A Chicago car insurance consultant was sentenced Monday evening to 15 months in federal prison following his and his wife’s convictions earlier this year for embezzling from an employee benefit plan.U.S. Attorney Nicholas A. Klinefeldt announced Monday that James Van Elsen, who owned the Pella-based life insurance consulting company Van Elsen Consulting, was sentenced by Judge Robert Pratt to 15 months in prison.
